From years of experience wearing ice cleats, while walking two dogs each winter (a life saver...literally), you may want to go up a size if you are approaching the upper limit of the shoe-size range and/or while wearing bulky boots.

For example, I wear a size 10 womens shoe AND put ice cleats on really bulky style of mens pack boots. Size recommendation for me according to 32NORTH chart is a medium. I would buy the large for my needs to get them to stretch and fit better. Hope that helps you when purchasing.
